I recently gave this keynote talk at the EdTechTeam Cape Town Summit, titled "Imagine the Possibilities". I've actually given this talk a number of times at Summits and other events all over the world, and this is likely the last time I'll use it, so I'm posting it here just for posterity.

As many of you know, my current role is working with EdTechTeam in Australia and New Zealand. It's a role I enjoy and I know we make a difference to many teachers both here in ANZ and globally. As a team of educators working in the field of ed ucational tech nology, I have always thought the name " EdTechTeam " is a good one.  It seems clear and unambiguous and I feel like it describes who we are and what we do. So one thing that has always puzzled me is the way people consistently get our company name wrong. We commonly get called just "Edtech", "Ed Tech", and even "Edutech", which is something entirely different. We sometimes get "EdTech team" or "Ed tech team", both of which are close, but no cigar. I was recently interviewed on The Press Release podcast with David Hotler . I found it in interesting chat with him and we covered quite a range of topics so I thought I would just share the episode here as well. Whenever I get interviewed I generally prefer not to know the questions in advance, and this was no exception. I find the conversation flows much better when I have no idea where its going. Sydney is a great city. As well as being visually stunning, there is always something interesting going on. The Vivid Sydney Festival launched last week, which is definitely worth checking out. With my work at EdTechTeam I love being part of the crew that runs Summits all over the world, but as a proud Sydneysider I get especially excited when we bring the Summit to Sydney. And this year I'm especially excited about the Summit because of a few extras it brings with it, which I wanted to tell you about. First, the actual Summit itself is being held in a NSW public school for the first time. We've run the event in private and Catholic schools in the past with some wonderful host schools. But I've always wanted the public sector to be able to share the Summit experience too, so I am thrilled that this year EdTechTeam is able to partner with the NSW Department of Education and Anzac Park Public School to host the 2017 EdTechTeam Summit featuring Google for Education. Well, I think this is exciting news... After 8 years I've officially resigned from my tech integration role at PLC Sydney and, starting on January 1 next year, will be embarking on a whole new career adventure. I have taken up a fulltime position with EdTechTeam as their Director of Professional Development for Australia & New Zealand. EdTechTeam is a California based company but has just started a local subsidiary here in Australia. As "a global network of educational technologists" with a mission of "improving the world's education systems using the best learning principles and technology", I've always been really impressed with what EdTechTeam are about.
